The Pacific Network for Mission Education (PNME) is sponsoring a November 2009 ecumenical and interfaith multi-generational trip. Spending three weeks in Malaysia and the region, we'll study the interplay between indigenous, cultural and religious influences.
In Malaysia, we will stay as guests of Sabah Seminary where we will have a unique opportunity to examine the effects of Islam on the culture, politics and government in a region where Christianity has long been established.
On the north part of the island of Borneo is a lush region containing the world’s oldest rain forest and splendid national parks. An integral part of this travel adventure will be a series of pre-trip orientations where we will learn how Sabah's East Malaysia geography affects its culture and religion. Costs in Malaysia are quite reasonable; detail cost estimates will be available soon.
