PACIFIC NETWORK for MISSION EDUCATION

Grants

GRANT FUNDS ACCRUE FROM EARNINGS ON THE ENDOWMENT CREATED BY PSCWCM IN 1980’s AND 1990’s.  PNME invites donations to our
irrevocable trust fund for mission education grants, including memorials and gifts honoring  leaders and loved ones. Contact us to discuss establishing matching funds for particular grants.

The Grant Application

Grants are available for conferences, service/learning experiences, or other short term forms of study which require financial commitment. Applicants are expected to share costs or to have other financial sponsors in addition to PNME.  Individual grant limits are $1,000 (one thousand dollars).  Applicants will have demonstrated  their interest in mission and show a relation with, or an effort to establish one, with a community of faith sharing their concerns.

“Mission based” education has always characterized PNME/PSCWCM efforts: learning that is experiential and grounded in relationships of mutual respect among all involved.  All are children of God. All are likely to be changed.

Honoring new and old relationships: PNME works to encourage persons seeking new avenues for their expression and growth in mission. PNME welcomes application by persons not previously involved in our networks, collaborations and conferences.  At the same time PNME treasures our varied experiences of  mission projects, and relationships in mission education efforts, which have developed over many decades.  We look forward to receiving applications from colleagues related to PNME's earlier projects and partnerships.

All applicants are encouraged to locate themselves critically and affirmatively in the broad history of mission.

2012 PNME Grant ApplicationExpectation of grant recipients: Upon completion of the project for which funds have been granted, grant recipients commit to write or speak about or otherwise demonstrate their mission education experience in their community, so that benefits will accrue to those at home as well as throughout communities of learning and service.

Selection Process: Upon receipt of an application PNME will initiate further communications. Applicants are encouraged to begin process immediately, particularly if they face deadlines for applying for their intended program. Mission education grant finalists will be asked to send two brief letters of support from colleagues pertinent to the work for which funds are being requested.

Announcing !
2012 PNME Mission Education Grants

2012 PNME mission education grants are available for facilitation of attendance of  classes, service/learning, or mission study trips undertaken in efforts to learn about and participate in the mission of the global church and to clarify the call to mission.

Beginning in 2011 PNME began to focus significant resources on providing financial grants which encourage recipients to take part in mission-based approaches to learning, service and participation in mission projects offered by other organizations.

PNME appreciates that education for mission takes place in very many settings, by laity and clergy, in congregations and in the world.  God’s mission is by all and with all.

PNME seeks recipients of mission education grants whose proposed learning shares our broad understanding of mission, and who show promise of being strengthened in their roles in mission by their intended project.
